Dear Secretary

As part of this year’s Mountaineering Ireland lecture series, James Forrest a freelance adventure and travel writer from Cumbria in England will be touring Ireland to talk about his journey of completing the Vandeleur-Lynams list of 273 peaks in Ireland within 2 months. The expedition is believed to be the first continuous ‘single round’ of the mountains of Ireland. He has also set a record for climbing all 446 mountains in England and Wales in just six months in 2017.

The talk will be about the trials and tribulation he faced during his successful solo challenges including battling against torrential rain and gale force winds during Storm Ali of his successful solo and unsupported challenges in particular his expedition of walking over 1,000km in his mission to stand atop all 273 600m high mountains across Ireland and Northern Ireland. The talks will run over three days in three different counties:

23rd January 2019 - Dublin – Irish Sport HQ, National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.
